you should be able to cancel the trial or subscription, but you won't be able to start the trial again in the future (1 trial per engineer)

It said "14 days trial" right before the checkout. Should have taken a screenshot I guess.

taking a look here it says that it was a direct purchase for subscription in stripe and is a second account

stripe has managed billing, so in the check out it would not say 14-day free trial if there would be a charge to your card. separately this seems like an alt account and we only allow 1 free trial per developer

Did I sign in with google or github, too? Don't remember that. It's certainly the first free trial I tried.
On that account I used the free version - not the developer trial

you'd have to email us at help@firebender.com to confirm here with the account you're asking about. to check who you're currently logged in as, got to triple dot > profile > and look at email

if you signed up for a free trial on another account, you need to cancel it in https://firebender.com if you haven't done so already
or it will attempt to charge at the end

No, I didn't sign up for the free trial on another account. I believe this is the only account I have with you and I wanted to start the free trial on that one.

how did you go about upgrading your account?

I clicked the "Upgrade" button in the plugin. It took me to the Developer account offer with the 14 days free. Because the button says "Subscribe with obligation to pay" I asked last week if the trial can be cancelled.
I guess you need to come from the main page with the "Start 14-Day free trial" and other routes don't have that flag set? ๐Ÿค”

It took me to the Developer account offer with the 14 days free. if you upgrade through the plugin it does not automatically apply a free trial. in order to start the free trial you have to go through the website directly. similarly stripe checkout will be very clear whether or not there's a free trial that will be applied or whether you will be charged immediately > other routes don't have that flag set? yes thats the default behavior, if you click "upgrade" its implied that you want to upgrade your account. and the stripe checkout page will not mention the 14-day free trial if you checkout from the website that offers a 14 day free trial explicitly, it will allow you to redeem it

yes the trial can be cancelled, if you started a 14 day free trial, you can click manage subscription in settings and cancel the trial

yes because we refunded your account and cancelled the subscritpion, you're on the free tier but can access your invoices and subscription that was created in the past

yeah so if you've made a subscription in the past you're no longer elegible for the 14 day free trial, that was designed for engrs who haven't had a chance to try it out yet. because it seems like an honest mistake to upgrade your account thinking you'll have a free trial, i can make an adjustment on your account
try hitting "get started" again on the https://firebender.com/pricing
you should see "14-day" free trial in the stripe checkout

To be honest: I'm certainly will cancel this specific trial on my personal credit card, but if I like the quota I'll request a subscription though my employer who currently grants me a AI Pro subscription.

and yes this is designed to be expensed through companies mainly bc if its saving you time and you're earning your company money, they should at least make sure you get to use the best tools
