Prepared 2.4.0 is out! • Conditionally ignore tests • Better exception handling around fixtures https://prepared.opensavvy.dev/news/2026/02/14/v2.4.0.html

A comment for
Ignored.If
states:
However, some test runners (e.g., TestBalloon) crash when a suite is declared that contains no tests at all.
That's misleading. TestBalloon is intentionally refusing to accept an empty test suite, ensuring that users don't accidentally miss tests.

If that doesn't meet your needs, there is an experimental API to change the behavior. But as always with experimental APIs, it would be good to know why you'd prefer it that way.

I added
Ignored.If
because I think that's the best solution here: it communicates to TestBalloon that there are tests, but I don't want to execute them. This still leaves the "empty suite" warning in place, which I do believe is helpful

If it's a TestBalloon test suite which contains tests, but they are all disabled, that should just work nicely without any extra configuration.
