Has anyone already encountered issues where text rendering gives scares instead of appropriate letters?
Text(
text = state.selectedTrack?.name ?: "",
style = MaterialTheme.typography.bodyMedium,
fontWeight = FontWeight.SemiBold,
maxLines = 1,
overflow = TextOverflow.Ellipsis,
color = MaterialTheme.colorScheme.onSurface,
textAlign = TextAlign.Center,
modifier = Modifier._fillMaxWidth_(),
)

what letters are those? looks like the font does not support these.

Full project available here if you want to have a look at gradle/libs.versions.toml for used compose/material versions https://github.com/kotlinds/nds-music-player
@Chrimaeon Same letters as just above (current playing title is the selected title from the playlist)
Btw you can see in the playlist the “P” is not rendering while it does in the bottom bar, but other letters are not

Both texts are supposed to say “SEQ_BGM_EYE_NEO_PLASMA”
And I didn't setup any custom font or whatsoever, so it’s compose defaults

Oh of curiosity, what if you hardcode a
Text
to say “SEQ_BGM_EYE_NEO_PLASMA”. Does it happen? I want to rule out that it is related to how you access the string resource.

You should upgrade CMP, that was fixed in 1.10.1. See the linked issues in https://github.com/JetBrains/compose-multiplatform-core/pull/2684
