Thanks for handling the gesture issues so fast! Pan on the latest release and pinch on your recent draft work well with maplibre compose. Do you have thoughts on how best to support rich platform input that Compose doesn't provide apis for? For example: • trackpad rotation today synthesizes a touch rotation gesture. So if I use it near some other ui, that UI gets tapped accidentally • macos smart zoom on that draft synthesizes an instantaneous scale gesture. So while all other map interactions animate smoothly, this one causes an instantaneous zoom. And there's no way for apps to do macos's intended "smart zoom" like how browsers will zoom to fit an element Does it make sense for Nucleus to layer on its own pointer api, more faithful to what the platforms provide? Or shall we propose to jetbrains/google that their api support wiring up richer gestures like rotate and smart zoom, like they already do pan and scale?

Sorry I couldn’t get back to you sooner — I haven’t had a proper chance to think this through yet. My current leaning is to introduce our own pointer API in Nucleus, closer to what the platforms actually expose. I’m not very optimistic that Google/JetBrains will take this on in a useful way anytime soon. If they do add richer gesture wiring later, we can adapt. Happy to discuss more once I’ve had time to sit with it.

That's reasonable I think. On my end, it's difficult, because I don't want to make nucleus a dependency of MapLibre Compose, but perhaps I can do some runtime detection for that API, or I can expose enough API on my end for apps to wire it up themselves
