Hi, I'm evaluating whether a bytecode-instrumenting build plugin could be ported to the Kotlin Toolchain. So the question: is there already, or is there a roadmap item for, a plugin API that would let a plugin transform an artifact/dependency's bytecode as part of dependency resolution, before it reaches a consumer (something like the Gradle's Artifact Transforms API), and/or programmatically add dependencies to a module's own dependency graph (like Gradle's
dependencies.add(...)
)?

Hi Denis! Sorry for the absence of response so far, your message kinda fell through the cracks. At the moment, we don't support artifact transformations. We don't have immediate plans for this, but it's not excluded either. We're always eager to hear about use cases and adjust the plans accordingly. cc @alexey.barsov @Fedor Ihnatkevich

The plugin I mean is Decoroutinator. It patches some dependencies at build time via Gradle's Artifact Transforms API, so at the moment it can't be ported to the Kotlin Toolchain.

I see, thanks for sharing. I didn't know Decoroutinator had a Gradle plugin. I thought it did most of its work at runtime. I realize now that they built a Gradle plugin for the Android case. Good to know!
