Just learned that Kotlin/Native is not supported by CMP. Why do we require a JVM for this, especially since all the graphics in CMP anyways is done through Skiko, which itself is a native library?

Skiko doesn't work on desktop Kotlin/Native, only Skia is a native library

Just looked into it. Skiko does support Kotlin native on macos, so not sure why other platforms aren't supported.
