I've just released v0.19.0 of MapLibre Compose, a library for adding interactive vector maps to your Compose Multiplatform apps. The last few releases have focused on advanced use cases and features; this release focuses almost entirely on bug fixes and performance. I added a benchmark harness, found the worst bits of inefficiency, and drove them down to where MapLibre Compose now trades blows with the classic MapLibre Android SDK in most cases. I've started publishing benchmark results on the docs site with measurements taken from few of my Android devices. I'll be refining the benchmarks and publishing numbers for iOS soon. From now on, the focus for the project shifts towards stabilizing the public API for a future 1.0 release. I've posted a meta-issue focused on API design suitable for backwards compatibility (based on this article). If you're using the library, please feel free to share feedback on those topics. --- Related news, StreetComplete, an easy to use OpenStreetMaps editor for Android has migrated to MapLibre Compose and Compose Multiplatform and just published its first TestFlight build for iOS!
