10/05/2026, 9:25 AM.wasm carries a deep WasmGC type section. Until now, the WAT view in Hexana showed it as a flat list of (type ...) blocks: correct, but not navigable. New in Hexana for JetBrains IDEs 0.21:
Every type in the type section gets an inline kind and field annotation. No need to count fields manually.
Alt+click opens a popup with field names, field types, byte offsets, direct supertypes, and direct subtypes, all in one place.
Show Type Graph opens an interactive canvas of the subtype and field-reference edges for the type you selected. The default view is 1 depth level / 1 hop, which keeps it readable. You can expand up to 5. Expanding a node keeps the rest of the layout in place. Double-click on any node jumps back to the WAT source row for that type. We tested it at 294 nodes on kotlin/hello.wasm. The layout holds.
Two smaller items that may also be relevant: script suites (*.test.js with `describe`/`test`) can now assert over a wasm binary and report findings to the IDE Problems tab and SARIF 2.1.0; a wasm module without a .wasm extension now opens by content instead of falling back to a raw hex view.
If you try the type graph on a real Kotlin/Wasm build and hit anything unexpected (a layout that explodes, a popup with wrong supertypes, a jump that lands on the wrong WAT row), we’d genuinely like to know.
