For some time now, IntelliJ _always_ shows the "Sync with Gradle" hover icon for me (e.g. on <https://github.com/oss-review-toolkit/ort|this project>). Even after syncing, the icon keeps popping up again, so the project model seems to never be in sync with Gradle. Is this a know problem?

Did you add this custom property?

IIRC, I'm experiencing the situation since adding that, also with the IDE claiming "sync failed" while Gradle says "BUILD SUCCESSFUL".

Nope, no such property is set. I have a hunch that it started with some Gradle or IntelliJ IDEA update, but I ignored the issue for too long to remember when exactly is started.

Maybe as well be a coincidence in my case. Does your IDE also complain about "sync failed"? Are you on stable or EAP?

No complaints from the IDE. It's just that I never reach a synched state. I'm on the stable channel.

Please include your IDE build (Help | About), Gradle version, and idea.log collected right after the icon reappears. Also, does the icon reappear without any changes to the build files? Thanks!

Yes, it does. I can do a sync, wait for it to complete, and then after making no changes at all, the icon always reappears. I'll try to find the time to make a report.
