Javascript?

Kotlin being top 3 does imply the fall of Java
r
@Fudge How so?
s
the fall of Java started already few years ago
everyone i know moved to Go
f
No one I know has ever heard of Go 😉
s
what is the demographic of your entourage ? junior/senior ?
f
Quite senior not accurate, there is quite a bit of Junior people as well
My 'entourage' is specifically Israeli though which means 2-3 years delay
r
Man, if I had a dollar for every time I heard "Java is dead, everybody switched to <insert language of choice here>".
s
it is not dead, it is just declining, new gen of developpers won't think about Java to build their stuff
r
They've been saying that for two decades now
s
yeah but following new tech trends, java just doesn't fit
for machine learning for example, no java
server less projects, no java
r
Neither of those are true

Keep in mind that github data only correlates with open source, a very self-filtering dataset.
s
yeah, but it is interesting to see the difference with what's being taught at schools, and data we see in the wild
o
I think Stanford recently switched to JS from Java
