26 minute compilation times sound miserable, although just doing random things (including Kotlin and Java) will spin up the fans on my macbook.

26 minutes has to be full builds, I spent a lot of time in Scala so far in '18 and found the compilation times to be competitive with Swift and Kotlin.

Just compile, not even packaging; once it caches some `.class` it goes down to 17 mins or even 13 mins. On the other hand I never had that problem with Kotlin even on full builds. E.g: Arrow takes 14m and 26s for a complete build including testing, packaging, code quality and so on
