codeslubber: Don't you need XCode and Mac to do anything with Swift? That's a huge disadvantage for me.

not sure, there are quite a few server side Swift projects now, I would think a lot of people working on them are not building in xcode, but who knows, go take a look at Vapor, e.g. I still prefer IJ to Xcode but not by near as much as in the past. Frankly AS is really getting to be a lot better. Even the interface builder is now pretty awesome.
Those last two ideas seem disjointed: overall I have always preferred IJ, but Xcode had interface tools that first eclipse then the early versions of AS did not have, now AS has rapidly closed that gap..
