I suppose there are good reason about it: performance. Games often hit CPU 100% for render as many FPS as possible. But rust could be solution

That's actually not what I was referring to. I just find the game industry so backwards and in the stone age basically. Other industries have a lot more open source leveraging - game industry decides to reinvent the same thing 100 times for no compelling reason. Like, even compared to other modern c++ projects, the game industry equivalent is like 10 years behind
I've found this to be the case in nearly every aspect of the industry, after having been in the traditional software industry. It reminds me of enterprise tbh
And it isn't even because of performance reasons. I think it might just be the barrier to entry, combined with the unwillingness to collaborate even on fundamental levels. Of course companies are largely to blame because they're more prevalent in dominance than in other sectors
I think rust can help some things like package management and what not which would be a decent step -but isn't gonna change the industry atmosphere alone
