Will there be KotlinConf in California this year?
l
No
k
Ohh thank you! Any reason why not?
l
One conference a year is enough, I still have to catch up to last year's videos. This year, it's taking place in Amsterdam in less than three months as written on the official website, and it's already overbooked
k
It was in Amsterdam last year too. But we also had one in San Francisco, CA in November
l
Are you sure you're talking about the "KotlinConf" and not some other conferences?

k
Yes
r
There have been many Kotlin conferences, but so far there has only been one KotlinConf. It was in San Francisco last November.
l
This was SF yes, not Amsterdam. You're confusing 2017 and 2018 editions who are the same conference, but different events with different places.

r
It is an annual event, and this year's will be in Amsterdam. There may very well be another Kotlin conference of some sort in California, but it won't be the official KotlinConf.
(Sorry @louiscad, I don't mean to talk around you.)
k
Ahh sorry guys. I assumed it happens every year at Amsterdam. My bad. facepalm
l
It may though, because Amsterdam may be the best big city in the world 🚲 🚴 😉
r
There's a chance at that. I'm sure the reason they chose SF last year was mainly for the Google tie in. There's no saying if they're going to stick with Amsterdam after this or move it around every year.

7 years = 7 continents 😏
r
Can't wait for the Antarctica conference 🙂
b
That year could be called 2024, KotlinConf I24s (InternationalizationWaters)

my vote is for a themed cruise. sort of like the weezer cruise. only much less sensible. also probably more alcohol.
v
@Kris Iyer you may want to look into Kotlin user group meetups, which are monthly in SF
h
Right now there are no plans to do more than one KotlinConf per year.
r
@hhariri Hopefully there are equally few plans to do less...?
h
@Ruckus Huh?
r
@hhariri There aren't any plans to do less than one KotlinConf a year, are there?
h
No plans for discontinuing KotlinConf either, no 🙂.
We’ve sold out with 1300 people 2 months before the event. It wouldn’t make any sense 🙂.
r
I figured, but I wanted to make sure 🙂
