Why negative reactions? Eclipse has a very strong presence in a variety of "enterprise" settings, for both backend and frontend development. Supporting Kotlin as a first class citizen in that ecosystem should be viewed as a positive.

It's a whole different ecosystem that doesn't intersect a lot with the "bleeding edge" of Github-hosted projects, but that doesn't mean that it's not there.

And those developers are quite unlikely to follow Jetbreains or Kotlin on Twitter to participate in this survey

definitely agree if Eclipse users don't use Kotlin because of subpar Eclipse support, polling via an official Kotlin channel might not be productive
