🙅 It looks like IDE 'Favourites' feature has been removed in favour of 'Bookmarks' in both Android Studio Dolphin and the latest IntelliJ. These features do not behave equivalently: Favourites behaved like regular folders so I could drag/drop files between them. Bookmarks don't do this, it's a poor replacement. I made good use of 'Favourites' it's a significant productivity hit to see this go 😞 👎 👎
For context, I found 'Favourites' useful when working with Kotlin Multiplatform, to group different slices of 'Favourites' of platform vs feature folders, then work with them just as ergonomically as from the Projects tree. The only thing I was missing was the ability to define the favourites from Gradle script; which would have been awesome (and I put a feature request to JB). Please tell me I'm missing something as this seems like a big step backward.

Isn't this all powered by intellij and so its nothing from the AS team?

Yes this decision was made by IntelliJ upstream. I would file a bug on their tracker so they can take action on your feedback.
