It plays an important role in boosting adoption of the typings standard. If it gets merged, it should be much easier to convince action authors to onboard. I dislike the action, but great that they will hopefully merge the typings.

I also don't like my feature requests or bug reports to get auto-closed, but maybe in high-volume projects it makes some sense in certain cases

But it will also scare away many users from even reporting bugs as "they get auto-closed anyway".
Well, each project must decide for themselves.

it would be pretty weird for GitHub to now come and say “we don’t want this”. Although I’d be happy if they decided to add first-party support for typings, and I hope that’s why it takes them so long to approve - because they’re designing their thing :joy:
